Nepal is a country that consists of mountain ranges, high grounds, and lowlands. Winter in Nepal is harsh due to the contrast in ground elevation. Cold wave occurrence is especially dangerous to the Nepalese people that live in Terai (lowlands).

Every year, many Nepalese lives were lost due to extreme cold and lack of government support to prevent it. 19 people died in Saptari province alone four years ago, and an estimated 50,000 people will be affected by the harsh winter.

THEY ARE UNABLE TO WARM THEMSELVES

Most Nepalese people in the Terai region are unable to fend off the cold because of poverty. In desperation, they burn straws to warm themselves. This resulted in many fatalities from the fires spreading to their homes. 9 deaths were recorded last year because of the house fires.

Food To last At Least 2 months  ( Food with longer shelf life ) 

Blankets - Quilts 

Cost : RM 200 per family. 

Target : 100 families ( 500 persons )
